Drink sustainably this Christmas with Domaine Bousquet

Sustainable, high-altitude Argentine winemaking, with French roots

Biodiversity in the vineyard

Domaine Bousquet is the No. 1 exporter of organic wine in Argentina. Based at 4,000 feet above sea level in Gualtallary, a sub-region of Tupungato in Mendoza’s Uco Valley, the estate is owned and run by husband-and-wife team Labid Ameri and Anne Bousquet and has made a name for itself in the organic category since its inception in the 1990s. Its high-altitude vineyards give thermal amplitude that results in fully ripened grapes, with naturally retained acidity, which results in wines with bright, rich fruit coupled with balanced freshness and complexity.

Domaine Bousquet is one of the most sustainable wine brands in the world. As well as being 100% organic it was certified B Corp at the end of 2022 and became only the fourth wine estate world-wide to be awarded Regenerative Organic Certified (ROC)™ status last year.

Ameri Single Vineyard Organic Malbec 2020

Named after Domaine Bousquet’s co-owner, Labid Ameri, this is the estate’s flagship wine. As well as being a single vineyard expression, it is also “specific cluster” selected. The grapes are sourced from the highest vineyard in the estate, at over 4,000 feet. The conditions here are near-perfect for Malbec grapes, with intense daytime sunlight and huge day/night temperature differentials. This results in grapes with increased levels of sugar, acid, flavour and aromatics. The wines are aged in French oak for 12 months before release. The resulting wine is velvety, complex, with sweet tannins and a smooth, rich, seamless finish.
